Ferrari 812 Superfast revealed ahead of Geneva Motor Show debut

This handsome looking beast is the Ferrari 812 Superfast – a replacement for the F12, set to make its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

Yes, Ferrari really is calling it that. But it’s entirely justified because this super car really is super fast.

Power comes from a new 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 788hp, meaning the 812 Superfast hits 62mph in 2.9 seconds.

That makes it the fastest road-going Ferrari ever sold, says the Maranello firm, although the F12tdf matches this acceleration time. The LaFerrari completes the run in ‘less than’ 3.0 seconds.

Top speed? ‘211mph plus’, teases Ferrari.

With 80% of its huge 530lb ft of torque available from as low down as 3,500rpm, the 812 Superfast will be happy eating away at continents on epic road trips.

But when you get bored and want to see what the top end of the rev range is all about, maximum torque comes in at a heady 7,000rpm. Keep your foot pinned until 8,500 revs for maximum power.

Naturally, there’s a host of clever tech to keep the Superfast super-safe. Think the fifth-generation of Ferrari’s awesome Side Slip Control (it’ll let you have some sideways fun and then rein you in), along with Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 – Ferrari’s four-wheel-steer system.

The styling looks a bit more aggressive compared to the relatively toned-down F12 Berlinetta. From muscular wheelarches to LED headlights integrated into the bonnet’s air intakes, this thing isn’t shy about its performance. With a name like Superfast, it’s not going to be timid, is it?

Inside, things look rather similar to the F12, albeit slightly beefed up. There’s a new steering wheel, while the dials have been tweaked.

Prices are yet to be confirmed, but expect it to be pricier than the £240,000 F12 Berlinetta. We’ll find out more at the Geneva Motor Show, where we’ll be reporting live.
