Honda reveals City ZX variant details ahead of its official launch

Honda, a popular name in the Indian automotive market, will be launching the City facelift in the country on February 14. Ahead of its official launch, the automaker has revealed a few feature specs of the new top-of-the line ZX variant. Prior to the ZX variant, the City had the VX trim as top-spec trim, which now stands second to the top-spec version. The new model will not get mechanical upgrades and changes will be limited to feature and cosmetic upgrades.

As revealed by Honda, the top-spec City ZX variant features LED headlamps with daytime running lamp while the rear is adorned with a new LED taillight assembly. The exterior of the top-spec model gets R16 diamond cut alloy wheel and one touch open and close electric sunroof that distinguishes it from a regular model. As for the interior, the new variant will get premium upholstery along with new 7-inch touchscreen audio, video and navigation system. Safety being a priority, the Japanese automaker Honda has offered six airbags which includes dual front, side and curtain airbags.

The new Honda City will continue to be offered in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre petrol engine variant comes mated to five speed manual and an optional CVT automatic gearbox. The diesel variant on the other hand also gets a 1.5-litre engine which comes mated to six-speed manual transmission. Like the current generation, the petrol variant is expected to generate similar power figures of 115bhp and 145Nm of torque, while the diesel version is also expected to generate similar power output figures of 98bhp and 200Nm of torque.

Honda City has always been a preferred choice in the sedan segment and with the launch of a fresh facelift version which is slated for launch next week, the automaker can expect to see a further rise in overall sales. Loaded with fresh upgrades and improved quality, the new model will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento. Additional, details about the new model will be known in coming week.
