Launching Soon: Tata Kite 5
After launching the Tiago hatchback last year and, more recently, the Hexa MPV, Indian vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors is gearing up to launch their next product. The vehicle in question is the compact sedan version of the Tiago, called the Kite 5.
The vehicle was showcased to the general public at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo held in February. Although most of its front end and interior bears a significant resemblance to the Tiago, the rear of the car has been redesigned completely. Designing a compact sedan is the sort of thing that can be gotten wrong very easily but, we think Tata Motors has pulled it off as the Kite 5 looks very aesthetic.
Under its bonnet will be either a 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder Revotron petrol engine that develops 84 bhp or a 1.05 litre, 3 cylinder Revotorq diesel engine that puts out 70 hp. Both these engine options come equipped with 5 speed manual gearboxes as standard but, the option of AMT automatics are expected to be provided as well. Tata will also provide the Kite 5 with a good list of features. When the vehicle goes on sale, it will be positioned below the Tata Zest in terms of pricing.
