Volkswagen Passat
Volkswagen showcased Passat GTE at the ongoing biennial IAE 2016. The environment-friendly plug-in hybrid version packs a 154bhp-1.4L TSI petrol engine that delivers 215bhp of power when combined with an electric motor and claims a driving range of 1000 kms. However, the car can run for appx. 50kms on electric drive alone. The sedan has a 2nd-generation in car infotainment unit featuring a touch screen, USB and Bluetooth. Moreover, the Driver Assistance System also becomes convenient. The next-gen Passat was also spied in India and is expected to be launched by January next year. It will lock horns with the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and BMW 3-series in India.
