All-New Mini Countryman Launched at Rs. 34.90 Lakhs

BMW Group India has launched the all-new Mini Countryman at an introductory price of Rs. 34.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. Being locally produced at Chennai production facility, the second-generation all-new MINI Countryman will be available in both petrol and diesel variants with deliveries beginning from June 2018 onwards. The two petrol variants include the Mini Countryman Cooper S and Mini Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired while the diesel variant includes the Mini Countryman Cooper SD.

Both the petrol and diesel variants come loaded with a plethora of striking features such as Automatic Tail Gate, Cruise Control, LED Headlight, Fog Light, Panorama Glass Roof, Electric Seat Adjustment with memory, Multifunction steering wheel, Centre armrest in front and rear and the 6.5-inch Radio MINI Boost as standard. The Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired is equipped with John Cooper Works aerodynamic kit, rear roof spoiler and impressive 18-inch JCW thrill spoke alloy wheels. It boasts of JCW sports leather steering wheel, ‘Leather Cross Punch’ Sport Seats, Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Speaker System, MINI Find Mate and the MINI Wired Package. The MINI Wired Package includes Navigation System Professional and MINI Connected XL 8.8-inch screen with Touch Controller and Bluetooth mobile connectivity.

The all-new Mini Countryman will be available in five colours: Island Blue, Light White, Chilli Red, Melting Silver and Thunder Grey as well as British Racing Green offered exclusively for the MINI Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired. Inside the cabin, it would feature Leatherette Carbon Black as standard upholstery and Leather Cross Punch Carbon Black for the JCW Inspired variant. The standard safety equipment comprises of front and passenger airbags, Brake Assist, 3-Point Seat Belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control and Run-flat tyres as standard. The hatch also gets Mini driving modes: MID, Sport and Green.

Mechanically, the petrol variants are powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine which develops top power of 192bhp and peak torque of 280Nm. The diesel variant gets its power from the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine which belts out 190bhp and 400Nm. Both the engines are linked to an 8-speed automatic steptronic transmission as standard, while JCW Edition also gets shift paddles. The petrol variant sprints to 100 kmph from standstill in 7.5 seconds and the top speed is 225kmph. The diesel variant does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 7.7 seconds and the top speed is 220kmph.
