Maruti Ignis
Maruti Suzuki revealed the Ignis concept at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The automaker calls it 'urban compact vehicle', and it will be pitched primarily against the Mahindra KUV100. It will go on sale on January 13, 2017, and will be launched in an EDM concert, while official e-bookings will start from early Jan. It will be retailed from the Nexa dealerships and we expect Maruti to price it in the vicinity of Rs 5 lakh. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is powered by the 1.2-litre K-series petrol motor (84.3PS/ 115Nm) along with the 1.3-litre DDiS190 diesel engine (75PS/ 190Nm) in the country. Speaking of the transmission options, the Ignis comes with an option of a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated-manual transmission (AMT) with both the engine options in India. In terms of safety, it comes with dual front airbags along with ABS and EBD as standard. Moreover, Maruti states that the Ignis adheres to the upcoming pedestrian safety, side, rear and offset crash-test regulations in the country.
